Just a heads up, folks, but there may be some disruptions in the days ahead. The reason? It’s simple. I’m transferring hosting off WordPress.com to a third-party hosting service.
There are a lot of reasons for this, mostly it’s for business reasons. If there’s any interest in the whats and the whys, I’ll be happy to answer them. However, while the backend of WordPress is the same as what I’ve used time and time again, the business side is less than stellar.
Mostly, though, let’s just leave it that the middle tier of WordPress doesn’t let me do some things I kind of consider essential for this site going forward.
I have to be honest. This has never been a hobby or just a partial way to kill my time. For me, it’s been a business in the making for a while now, and I’ve reached a limit in what WordPress will allow me to do based on my current resources, so it’s time to make a change.
The only reason any of this is even being mentioned is that I’m not really a tech guy, contrary to what some people may have thought about me in the past. I can use WordPress and a few other blogging platforms, but setting them up has never been my speciality. As a result, there will likely be some disruptions moving forward and I want you all warned about it.
I’d like to thank you all in advance for your understanding.
